I brought an idf selling from army surplus and attached it using the official method of attaching slings from the holy land - para cord.
the nea I have has a quick release hole in the end of the fore end , and the stock has the same quick release in the back , ..I don't mind the Rambo/sas look
NO MATTER HOW MUCH IT HURTS, HOW DARK IT GETS OR HOW FAR YOU FALL , .....

I use od mounts on handguard and stock with a cobra style carrying sling normally.
Using Tapatalk
A sling swivel mount that goes straight onto the rail
I use 550 paracord.
Signature removed because some people are intolerant of me being American.
Didn't think of paracord
QD mounts from ali express, and a free sling from tommy
Mine is attached to my 11.5" shorty the same as ODL has this one.

Welcome to Sako club.
I have a sling and it stays in my bum bag. You cant shoot a deer with a rifle over your shoulder and otherwise it just gets in the way.
The sling comes out when im in some steep shit and I need to keep my hands free. I just have 2 QD studs. One on the hand guard and the other on the side of the stock.
Rambo didn't use a sling anyway, he just held it with his guns.
Get QD swivels and a decent two point quick adjust sling. You can take the sling off and throw it in your bag when you're moving through real thick shit and basically wear your rifle in open country. FWIW have no idea how the SAS do it. Always thought they frowned on slings.
