It's really apples and oranges.

Pistols can only be used at approved ranges. MSSAs can be used anywhere you can lawfully fire a firearm.

There is no requirement to be a member of any club or any minimum number of shoots/attendences required for an E endorsement. You technically don't require a reason, but the Police insist on one. Put everything that you ever plan on doing with it; plinking, competition, hunting, etc.

ASRA has very limited shooting dates. I would recommend Waiuku Pistol Club, they have a 100M range and you can use it 5 days a week.

Not much barricade shooting is going to happen, unless you get into 3 Gun.

Shooting out of vehicles. ...not likely. Buy yourself a property and you can do what you want though.
