    Aussie shop

Which australian shop has the best range of scopes and best service? Won't be importing as my brother inlaw lives there so will ship to him before me. Looking to spend around $1300 max on a dial up scope. Was looking at vortex but now I'm not sure. Am not interested in leupold anymore. Maybe zeiss hd5. I see they do one in 3-15x50. Anyone had experience with these? Do they dial well?

    Cheers Dan

You need a Restricted Goods Permit to export any firearm accessories from Australia, including scopes.

    Permit is free.

Fines if you are caught without a permit can be severe.

Might be better to export from EU or USA.

I have sent a few scopes out of Australia to Austria for repairs. No export forms and no issues. I think it is only needed for rifles etc. maybe wrong however. To you question. Magnum sports for leupold and zeiss products. A had 5 will be 1000 to 1100 A$. Bought a 3 to 15 x 42 this year for 1050 ish target turret model.

Swaros are same price every, sold on agency model like Miele washing machines.

Retailers are not allowed to discount. I believe they get paid a commission on the sale and may not own the stock. This is how Miele operates.

Zeiss HD5 dial is very good in my opinion.
    Simple lift to unlock.
    Dials seem accurate.
Only 17moa available with the zero stop.
But good for along way on my 308.
    Zoom is firm but smooth.
Nice clear optics and easy to focus and good parralax.

I run the HD 5 5-25 for LR stuff. Zero stop gets me to just on 800 yrds on a good day.
700+ in the winter. With 200 yrd zero.

    500+ for the .308?
