Thread: Baikal firing pin issues?

Have had a few rounds fail to fire lately. At first I thought maybe rounds (PPU) however very quickly noticed there is no firing pin strike visible and several other brands of cartridge doing the same thing.

Had thought possibility of not "slamming" action closed hard enough to fully go into action/"battery", however even if I very positively close action still occasionally happens.

When I remove barrel etc and manually depressed cocking bar it fired pin every time. My thoughts are now something around loading a round, closing action and going to the "de-cocked" state then later its not quite coming completely back to fully cocked when given the 1/2 squeeze on cocking lever.

Question is this a known issue with the Russian bear club? And if so does anyone have suggestions. Doesn't happen if just action and fire but I ain't too keen to walk around relying on the safety.
