    Which Barrel

Finally got a barrel extension for a Blaser on the way.
Going to put a 3006 barrel on it.
Probably stick with projectiles between 150 to 200 grain. Preference for 165 at present. So presume 1/10 will be sufficient.
So who's making good barrels at the moment?
And what are the good/bad points?
    Cheers

Madco in Aust make very good match barrels. A 1:10 .308 cal match grade barrel should not be hard to find.

@7mmwsm r8 or r93? I have a r8 factory barrel in 3006 that I would happily move and do a part trade for extension

Trawling through some of the older barrel threads some say the Bartleins, Kreigers etc run better from the start (regarding copper, accuracy etc).
Is that an actual thing that someone who doesn't really know much about copper and good accuracy (me) is going to notice?
I can shoot OK, and am conscious about cleaning. But when I read about 1/4 Moa and getting barrels back to bare metal my head hurts. I don't think I've ever got barrel to a stage where I can go back to it at a later date and not get traces of copper.
So is someone like me going to notice the difference in barrel quality?

    Unlikely to notice the difference

Really depends on what your accuracy objectives are and expected rounds through barrel.

Pretty hard to shoot out a sporting rifle barrel
Pretty easy to shoot out a target barrel really quickly.
Copper fouling will be very different between the two types of rifle

I support Truflite each time I want a new barrel. Cant fault the quality, cant fault the service. And they put a helluva lot back in to our shooting sports here in NZ.

I'm assuming you are all thinking stainless steel ?

Chromoly is getting pretty hard to get barrel blanks in NZ now.
I believe Frueflight will do them but they aren't listed as a stock item
