Thread: barrel extension loose

Hey all, went to go and change a hand guard on a nea ar15 and notice once i had taken the old hand guard off, the barrel extension was loose on the barrel and could easily remove the extension pin and unwind it off the barrel by hand with no force.

Has anyone ever come across a barrel extension on an ar15 being lose before?

Yes. I understand that it needs to go to a gunsmith as the headspace is set off the extension. Talk to Ken at nzar15.
