What ever length you like Mate, just remember the more you cut off the slower it goes & the less the suppressor will like it

18" seems sensible for shorter work. It will bring it back to the same OAL with a 3 baffle DPT.

If your planning on using it for real long distance bunny smashing I would leave as is.

Unless your hunting bunnies in the bush I'd leave it full length

I had a 200 fps loss from a 20" to 16" AR15 barrels with the same load...to be fair two different uppers but enough for me to sell the 16" one.

well mines 12.5 but thats cause if Im likely to shoot longer than 150-200m Ill take another rifle
bear in mind what bullet you will run If its a 55grain soft point with a flat base 25grains of powder wont push it far enough to do anything spectacular beyond that anyway
yea they are fucken loud without a suppressor at that lenght

At that twist rate you'll find it probably shoots straighter w heavier pills. I use factory 63gr in mine, but the chap I bought mine from raved about the accuracy with 75gr pills. They didn't fit in the mag though.

My model 7 223 has an 18" tube. Had a play for fun at 400 yds the other day. 55gr SGK handloads did a 2" group on my gong. Could hardly hear the plate ring, but it'd still nail bunny's etc at that range with 350 ft lbs of energy. 17hmr at 150 yds only has 98 ft lbs and that flattens bunnies at 150.
