Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out

    Greetings,
The barrel is a Browning machine gun barrel fitted by Collings and Brady in 2002? 1 in 10 inch twist as you suspected.

Din must have had a lot of new old stock Browning barrels.
The same barrel he put on the LE 30-40 I had was in absolutely perfect condition.

Thankfully 30-40 ammo was never available in NZ as mil surp ammo.
30-06 maybe not so much by 2002 so hope this one has a good bore also.

Yes the metal work, Gunsmithing and bluing on the LE 30-40 was extremely good.

I also have a bored and lined Winchester 1885 22 LR Winder Musket C&B from around the same time and it wasn't so well done.

    Greetings again,
That Super Sporter rifle is an interesting one. I had never seen or even heard of one before and had to look it up. A reasonably rare rifle.

    Greetings yet again,
I see that de Hass devoted just one paragraph to the model. They were only made from 1928 to 1940 with a total production of a few tens of thousands. I would be green from top to toe as well.

I bought one of those barrels and wish I had bought more and salted them away. Dins basement workshop was a treasure trove reminiscent of Alladins cave
