Lightbulb Is barrel not sitting in the middle of the channel a serious thing?

I got 2x Magpul Pro 700 chassis and both of them having the issue centering the barrel to the middle. One is worse than the other but both of them showing the barrel sits to the left.

It is a bighorn TL3 action with integrated recoil lug so there is nothing to do with the recoil lug (I hope so).

The rifle shoots well and the barrel is still free floating. So my question is having the barrel not centered a big issue or I'm being too picky?

Dunno about Magpul but my factory Finnwolf stock had to be sanded heavily on one side of the ‘channel’ to stop it touching the barrel, had to remove nearly 3mm.

If it shoots, then no problem. If you have OCD, then maybe a problem. Looking forward to seeing a nice tight group as is.

My OCD had almost killed me.

My chassis is mechanically bedded so I'm afraid the tolerance came from the concentricity of the action-barrel combination.

If it really bugs you to look at it, maybe shim the other side with some masking tape or similar in the tenon area. It should fix the OCD problem, but might bugger up the grouping.....maybe.
