Thread: barrel pitting , glock 17

    I have owned and shoot glock 17 for a long time,minimum 25.000 per year in my competitive years but have never seen a pitted glock barrel,more like fouling and that's easily cleaned out. Have you used sweets by any chance? If it is pitting your gunshop should replace it without question. I have a glock 17 in my safe that has fired close 120.000 rounds with no pitting and it shoots as good as in its first year! Good luck

    Sweets 7.62 solvent,is a ammonia based solvent,if left in barrel for to long it will eat into the steel.
