A t3 is around about a no.2 contour though there is variation between barrel manufacturers
I've got an Sportco/Omark too, set up as a TR outfit.
It came with what appears to be a stainless 1-13" twist, 28" long barrel.
There are no maker's markings on the barrel, not even the calibre (308W).
Was having another built on a Musgrave action using a known Krieger 13" twist, which is 28" long.
Both barrels laid side by side, measure up (depending on my eyes/tape), as the same length.
My Omark has a Neilsen (spelling?), adaptor fitted.
Looking at 300_BLK's link, I'd think the barrels are of the Palma variety - quite possibly heavy, as both have been threaded for a 30 cal magnum suppressor with an M18 x 1 thread.
Being nearly deaf, I need all the protection from loud noises I can get.
Both rifles are heading in the F/TR direction so very reluctant to cut the TR stock around.
I've located and secured a couple of thumb hole stocks - one still rough, the other needing some modification to do the job.
The Musgrave unit is a WIP, but may be sold off (missus keeps talking [moaning ] about having two rifles to do the same job).
I haven't been able to find out much about the Omark, as the old guy got his son to sell it on his behalf.
When questioned on the history of the rifle, the most information I could get was - 'Dad thinks it was converted from LH to RH by a guy in Levin. Don't know how many rounds it's fired, as Dad only used it 'occasionally' at Taupo. He did clean it regularly though'.
The chamber, throat and rifling appears to be in good nick to me - my 'smith hasn't had to do anything to it, other than fit/adapt a one piece 20MOA mount for scope rings, change the bolt handle to a slightly longer, heavier type in a different (lower) position and fix up the primary extraction spacing on the bolt handle (bugger all primary extraction as bought).
I can use the rifle for a 'starter' unit, and commence the fitting of the thumb hole stock after a bit of load development.
Apologies if this novella hasn't helped.
Cheers
