Gimmick
Have you two ever tried one ?.
I've been using one for about three years, I find it a great unit shot plenty goats out 600yd to 850yd, longest 1186yds.
What on earth does a bors do that a strip of tape or card with drops on it dosent do? (apart from cost a shedload of $$$ and look like a carbunkle on top or your scope)
Gun City have them reduced from $3499 to $2999 , How many trips into the bush is that ? :D Get some Geovids
just noticed a nf 5.5-22x50 with bors $4000 on tm
ok ill reword my question.whats your guys experience with using a bors on your 800 yd plus rifle
When is someone going to put up a pick of this thing? what is it? an elevation adjustable scope mount?
Seems to be this thing.

Stay away. If you intend to spend money on that gadget, get one that works properly: IEA BC01.
Just look at the BORS sensor specs and you'll get the drift...
Why do you want one?
Are you incapable of ranging and dialing your scope?
You still have to adjust for windage so whats the point?
Spend that extra money on a better scope and rangefinder:thumbsup:
Is it a really expensive version of a burris elimenator ?

These came out quite a few yrs back , and once some of the shooters in the US had actually used IT , the feeling was it was better to use a PDA and a good ballistics programme , and after that , I have not seen or heard much more about them , they are model specific , ie you need to buy the BORS model that is made for your scope model exactly .
Later Chris
I have two Bors, each one sits on top of identical NF scopes, one on a Tikka 300wm and the other on a AR30wm.
They are bloody good, I purchased 3 or 4 years ago over the www.
You still need to range find the distance and just crank the elevation knob until the digital display matches the distance, the Bors determines your angle, temp and pressure but before all that you need to program the Bors via pc with your load data etc.
Battery doesn't last long and even turned off the battery drains, it would last a day.
No different than somebody owning several rifles really, it's whatever spins your wheels.
