I would go all out, cross bolts and pillars epoxied in and the bedded, shouldn't move after that.

Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out

VC at least we know the crack isn't from over tightening the king screw

VC,,,,,That crack is a known fault with the 75 synthetic. Mine did the same thing years ago and was replaced with a new stock, by whoever was the sako agent when they were the current model.....

Yep....3 seperate stocks I have looked at had it to varieing degrees.

Its always been in the back of my mind I should fix it but shooting has taken the back seat of late.
Bit of interest again after the Toby shoot and went up the range to continue developing a load I started on ..... I dunno bloody ages ago and it shot like shit even with a known load.

Not the rifles fault but when I pulled the stock off the front screw was a full turn out from finger tight

Iv found with 85s and 75s they can loosen after 10-20 rounds after refitting the stock no matter how pedantic you are with setting the action rearward while tightening but after the second tighten they are generally rock solid.

Mine has done a lot of bouncing around in a fish bin on the front of a quad, being carried/dropped/walking sticked and generally taken hunting but not to the range.

So while it shoots pretty good if the action screws are actually tightish its just something I should sort out I think so hopefully they stay tight.

It's not an easy action to bed....lots of corners and angles.

I've done two of these synthetic 75 stocks. When I dremelled out the action holes to take Devcon and pillars, I found that there's light gauge steel pillar like fittings embedded but not visible in the stock. They must be there to stabilise the synthetic material around the action screw holes, and prevent it from being crushed under torque loads.

I've also done two Senator '75 stock with pillars from Dean Maisey and Devcon 10110.

PM me your cell if you want to chat about it. I've got some good silicone faced adhesive tape you can have that's good for relieving the areas that you don't want any of your bedding compound to contact, and load the action up.
