Looks like the whole action is not seated deep enough in the stock to me. The bottom line of the ejection port is parallel to the stock, so I think both front and rear need to be relieved so the action sits in deeper. The top time of the stock should be the same as the centreline of the bore.

I took the floor plate out and checked the front lug. it is pretty flush with the bedding so its just the rear tang that needs to be lowered and a cut out for the safety. just seems unusual
