    Belmont .223 62 grain ammo

Hi, I’ve been reading a lot on here about people using tight twist barrels to stabilise heavier projectiles so got me thinking about my own rifle.
I’ve got a Tikka T3 in 1:8 twist so thought going to this Belmont ammo might be a good idea. Mostly use it to shoot goats and fallow deer out to about 150m, mostly under that for deer. Usually shoot 55 grain and it loves it. The Belmont stuff is 62 grain Hornady SP projectiles.

    What you guys reckon?

Will the 62 give a noticeable bit more punch to go out to 200m?

Onto my second tin of this its excellent. You trade off a little speed for better wind bucking and energy retention over that range. In my rifles its only fractionally less accurate than my best target load less expensive and i dont have to worry about policing my brass.

you can try the 77 grain belmont. I have the same tikka and that ammo shoots 1/2 inch at 200yards. but drops quite a bit more than the 62 grain.

The heavier pills are only another few clicks or inches holdover. Got nothing to lose really.

I have found the 62gr a lot more emphatic on goats and little difference in trajectory
