Beretta BRX1 - new hunting rifle

    Hey all,

Does anyone know anything more about the new Beretta hunting rifles? Are there any in NZ yet and has anyone had a play?

Looks interesting - interchangeable calibre, straight pull action (they call it linear, assume it's the same thing) and ambi-dextrous bolt without the need for tools

Looks very slick, none for sale in NZ yet, dunno if beretta NZ has any dealer/demo/training models in country.
    Plenty on order.
One store I went into yesterday indicated a suggestion that retail would be in the vicinity of $3999.00 if that's right its a lot of rifle for the $$$
So far just 308, 30-06 and 300win being released.

Oh, I still remember the old days when we were allowed in stores…nowadays we are only allowed to stand at the door and look longingly inside…

10MRT shooters do it 60 times, in two directions and at two speeds.

Our first shipment includes a handful of 300win mags and the rest being 308. Our next load should contain 6.5 creedmoor as well. Calibre conversion kits being priced as we speak.
With the delays at the NZ police we would expect to see these on the shelves early next year

No 30-06 in the mix ? Or was that not one of the current options ?

Are they like a tikka in that they are all long action to allow for caliber conversion ?

Yesh...I thought the same. How much of a hit would it take for that to bend downwards?..then that would impact the bolt operation...But then you'd have to be unlucky to drop it upside down while the bolt was removed..and then your scope would be most likely buggered since that would hit first anyway.

Had a look into this and it is a serious rail! It is also replaceable, so if you did damage it you can swap it out. However you would need a new scope first as I can guarantee that the scope would give out before the rail does.

We have one sample in the country that is waiting Police Arms office approval. These are a very slick rifle with a lot of features.
The retailer was very much incorrect with his retail.

We will be bringing these to market at $2899!

Thanks for everyone's input, without seeing it up close, circa $3k would seem like very good value.

Will be keen to get my hands on one for a closer look next year, or the following year depending on AKL's lockdown status
