    Best 300win mag mountain rifle

I'm talking top of the line here guys. Opinions on what's really worth dropping your hard earned $$ on. Blaser R8? Sauer 404? Sako carbon light?? Anyone with actual experience using these rifles in a magnum cal?

My choice would be the carbon light if I had the coin and run it on 208gr A-max or ELD.

Sako's are limited by shit mag length if you are using decent longrange projectiles in the 300 mag , just be done with it and go custom as cam said

Just nearing completion of a similar build for specs.

Cheaper, easier and to your liking-custom.

    Weatherby Mark V 7mm WBY-$900.
    Trueflite 300win mag 1 in 10 26" Number 3$1100 inc fitting.
    Terminator T2 Brake 14X1 Thread $298.
(Awaiting fitting) STUG carbonfibre stock $665.
$1963 all up fitted etc..... half the price of a carbon light
Then it's just optics and reloading gear.

I'm not sure about your addition here? $2,963?

    Cheers! Trueflite:-)
Oh yea my apologies for the p!&s poor addition on my part but you get the drift of how much you can save $.

The reason I settled on win mag is for 3 reasons. 2) I've always wanted one. 2) factory ammunition is widely available anywhere. 3) stabilises the higher BC projectiles which it's intended to use better.

    Photos to come.

Is factory ammo widely available in the high BC pills? Can't say I see it in shops.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

I'm sure that there will be valid reasons for the 300 win mag - like a bit more oomph with heavy projectiles, but if its a mountain rifle that you want why not go for 300wsm? You save length and weight right from the get up.
