For the Forbes, perhaps you could look at a very light scope. Think whether something in keeping with low weight might be more of its essence. You can have a big high resolution scope on the WSM.

Yeh they look good. Just wish they had a 2-12 or 3-15

I do like that leica 2.5-10x42 @jakewire i see there is an option for exposed turret, is that designated by the "TT" in the title of the scopes?

I think that's right.
Looked at one of them , be carefull because one model has only elevation and one has both
I chose the ballistic reticle one to put on my 6.5x55 Sako Deluxe just felt it suited the rifle style better.
Email them, I found them very helpful.
Lastly , the glass is excellent, I run a twelve power PM11 on another rifle and while I hesitate to say the Leica glass is exactly on a par it is certainly up there in my opinion.

The Leica is excellent glass however, the reticles are very fine.

Personally, I think a Kahles KX 3-9x42 would suit your Forbes rifle better. 9x is more than enough for a lightweight .308.

I've got a 2.5-10 ×42 Nightforce on a.284 tikka and its the best scope I've owned thoroughly recommended.

I have just compared with my unscientific rapidly failing 53yr old eyesight the.
Leupold VX3 LR 4.5x14, Fine reticle
Schmidt and Bender Pm11 3x12, P4 Fine reticle
Leica ER 2.5x10m, 50012 Ballistic reticle
I compared them all on 10x
I focused on a branch of a tree 340m away , Maybe the leica is a little thinner that the other two but you would have to be good to pick it.

One thing I did notice about the leica i bought was the clicks are very close together.

Looking more and more at the z3 3-10x42 with the holdover reticle. Way lighter than the equivalent hd5...
