    Best long range rangefiner

what are people using for ranging out past 1000m? Idealy want something that will range out as far as 1800m in good conditions. Currently using the older leica geovids but they really struggle at the 1000m mark consistently.

    thinking 1600-B?

What other options are about that are around the $1000 mark?

Mine wont range to 1800m I've only managed 1300m. But I have never sat there and tried to get it to range as far as I can either.

I like that it gives the pressure/temp/angle. Can't say anything for the ballistic side of things, never used that feature

Do the hdb geovids have the same ranging technology as the 1600-B?

Mine go to 2070 yards basically instantly, have much more grunt that my CRF 1600.

The programmable ballistic function goes to 1000 yards, brilliant.

Rate my 1600-B and can always get 1600m and usually further. The beam divergence on the G7 is too wide for my liking and can give inaccurate readings in some circumstances, even with the near/far setting.
Have a go with my 1600-B sometime and see what you think.

+1 sold my G7 for the very reason, to hard two range animals accurately
Terrapin was sweet but two heavy/expensive for full time use.
1600 b was awesome constantly ranged two 1900yards, but still need binos
Best I've ever had are Zeiss Rf binos can't recommend them enough for real performance in all conditions, better and cheaper the the Leica IMO.

Lyndon is a waste of time at the moment. No one seems to have bothered to repair or replace the gongs that @Uplandstalker and I put up there.
There was nothing left to shoot at the last time we went up.
