zeiss conquest HD was pretty bloody awesome when i looked through one, 3-15x42 form memory. might be just under $1500
Can you get your hands on a vortex scope? Same glass as nightforce. I know nothing so il shudup
Zeiss HD and Vortex is what i have come up with too. But they all look good in the middle of the day watchn cars go by the local store. I wonder if H&F will have late night shopping for xmas so i can try them out?
Minox ZA5i 3-15x50 | Trade Me
I have hear really good things about these.
"Here's the deal I'm the best there is. Plain and simple. I wake up in the morning and I piss excellence."
vortex over ziess for better clicky bits.
I was gonna say ziess too, but yea vortex is more reliable. Bushy Elite is good.
I thought the question was low light ability , not clicky bits .
: )
Dont need clickey bits on this one just some sort of ballistic plex it will be for a short suppressed 308. im getting a pst for the rum. Im having a clearance sale then restocking the cabinet
iv got a zeiss hd5 3-15x42, all my shots are right on dark/crack of dawn, its a bloody awesome scope.
Bushy elite is a real good light catcher.you can get a good bushy under $1500 and have some change.............you have a bad experience with loupy pete?
I've been giving my Vortex Viper a serious workout over the last month, with a number of evening/night trips after wallabies. Plenty of shots in fading light and a lot more under spotlight. Odd bout of rain, snow or drizzle just to keep it interesting. I can't recall any instances where I could I.D. a roo (or possible roo) with my eyes or binos, when I wasn't able to find and get a clear enough picture to confirm or discard it through the scope.
It has been very very nice under the spotlight, allowing me to make definite ID's at reasonable distances at night when my brother has been unable to do so with his Vortex Diamondback. (which also has good glass and features for its price point) Or in shadowy patches during the day when the binos have raised my suspicions, but it wasn't until I scoped it up that I could confirm a roo.
Bottom line - I'm very happy with my Vortex, and while it is my first decent scope so I don't have much to compare it to, it's definitely not sub-standard glass.
Mine is the Viper HS LR 4-16x44 with Dead-hold BDC
Thanks for the first hand experience guys.
Neckshot i exclude leupold because i have a mk4 4.5-14x40 LR with the turret caps and the glass in that is f$&?@" shit. And i have had bx3 binos beside my viper hd and they are also shit. Maybe vx6 might be good i havent looked into them.
