Thread: Best Sling for NEA AR15/Spears Stock?

Just picked up an NEA AR15 looking to get a sling for it, just unsure on which one, the only possible mounting points I can see would be on the Spears Stock. If any one has any idea of what slings are compatible with it, would help heaps!

The beauty of it is that it just attaches to the rifle with paracord so no rattling sounds. I had to put an o-ring on the quick release buckle to stop that rattling as well. They are available internationally on line if you want to order one from there.

I use a Magpul MS3 a fair bit. I like it as it's quick to change to 2 point so you can rear sling it. I don't have much experience in slings on ARs though.

Also have the MS3 and it works really well, Spears stock looks like it has holes in place ready for some kind of sling system but as far as I know you need a swivel adaptor either where gruntzer put it or on the big web along the bottom, although the MS3 clips can lock onto the holes under the buffer tube

I used an Israeli sling connected with paracord looped through the holes on the spears stock, and through a magpul mount on the quadrail.

Sure,paracord will work fine.But I personally like just the standard QD swivel set-up for a conventional sling.....I used the mill at work to cut out the slot and drill the hole for the stud shaft.....but you could do it with just a drill press and maybe a small round file if you worked slowly and neatly....

+1 on the MS3 they work quite well on the spearmags stock. For the rear of the stock where slots are I just used a key ring as my attachment point. Cheap and effective.

i use an sks sling the one with the leather tabs not the spring ones
