    Better than expected

Eight or so days ago I asked the question about removing the pressure blocks on my Remington 7mm Mag to see if I could improve accuracy. The answers suggested to leave it as it was so that's what I did,
Today was a good day weather wise so I took the long rangers out for a blast. Set up targets at 550 yards and fired 3 shots at each, one target with the 300 Rum the other the 7mm Mag.
One shot with the 300 spoiled the group as I new I had moved slightly when she went off (to the left) other two are 4 and 3 inches from my aim point.. The 7mm Mag grouped it's three shot slightly right which would account for the wind (didn't dial for it) but the group was just over three inches. This was better than expected and I am glad I listened to the forum and left the old girl alone.Name: 7mm Rem Mag at 550 yds.jpg

Ha ha no. My farm access is fine out to 900 but with all these calves getting in the way it may suit better at his spot. He asked for access to gongs last week, mine are portable

I was shooting up in the local forest and that range is about it, you could shoot a few closer shots and there is another angle to shoot but I would need to range it to see how far it is. Would need to walk across clear cut to set up gongs. The 550 yards can be driven to. It is amazing that unless you have access to farmland with good backstops it is difficult to find paces to shoot out to and past 1000yds.
