    Bi Pod fail

Last week when I got home from the range I noticed my Remington Bi Pod had broken.
Not too impressed with the build quality, I bought it when I bought the rifle (also a Remington) a while ago but it's not had much use.
One of the pins that fits into the sling mount to secure it to the rifle has fallen off.
I am now looking at new bi pods, I was wondering if you experienced lot would share your wisdom with me once again.
Am I right in assuming it's a case of you get what you pay for and to go for an expensive one, or is there a cheaper, underrated model/make out there?
    Thanks in advance.

They are only a $60 bi pod. Just grab a harris and be happy for some time to come.

    Hi mate,

Iv got the same bipod, and have had to repair the same thing. As well as another thing or 2 when it was young.

I recommend giving it a go and see how it holds up, mine is around 6 years old now, and the last 5 have been trouble free

If I remember right, the pin is slightly tapered, I just used a pair of poly-grips and pushed it back in way further than it was originally.

Harris, atlas etc, very good apparently but farkin' pricey!

If you wanna do it once and do it right, get an atlas. They not only swivel, but twist too. Oh and they leave your swivel stud available for normal use. Have a read: Atlas Bipods

    Around $450 last I checked

I had a gun city one, which was so soft and flexible I think it was made of cheese.

Then I did what I should have done to start with and bought a Harris (second hand, for not much more than the gun shitty one cost).

Buy a Harris, the notched leg version, not the friction lock version, and get a pod-lock lever...

Considering how big a difference a decent front rest can make to your shooting, just spend the $ and feel the pain once, rather than every time you pull the trigger

You know, if you need 100 rounds to kill a deer, maybe hunting isn't your sport.

Same thing on mine, just noticed it wasn't there one day. It still works fine with just the one though.

Definitely Buy a Harris Bi-pod (swivel notched legs, 9-13" is most common for hunting) not sure where the cheapest place to buy is but your looking at $200 and a Pod lock is a must for the swivel Bi-pods or it will just go loose all the time and its a real bastard, I got mine from "t-nuts.com heres the link to the one I brought
    BPL-Micro/Stainless, t-nuts.com

very well built, ratchet type so you can place the handle against the stock once tight so its out of the way only $23 incl shipping direct from the company to NZ, very good to deal with I've brought a few from them with no complaints.

Note when you buy one that you have to select one of the three thread types, BPLMS-32 10-32 is the right one for Harris
