Thread: Bino chest pack/harness reccomendations ?

Hey guys I just recently treated myself to some new binos and currently I have been using a chest harness that attaches to my binos on some elastic chords.
Whilst it is handy I like the idea of a chest harness/pack setup where the binos sit in the pack not tethered to the harness.
Want something that is quiet to access
Not too bulky and heavy
Suitable for 10x42 binos
Have been looking at the kuiui (spelling)
Also the badlands however they look a little bulky
I have been told the kuiui ones don't keep all the shit out dirt small bits of brush etc
Are there other ones that I should be considering that aren't too hard to get hold of here in NZ ?
My mate has a leupold setup but I've never seen any available for sale ?
Have seen the vortex and twin needle setups and didn't like them

I have a Badlands. Awesome bit of kit. Fit my Leupy 10x42's well.
Can fit few other bits and pieces in as well. Clip radio to the side easily.

I’ve never had one. But have long thought i’d Like to give one a go. I thought about getting one of these ones after my mate kept saying his Badlands one gets too wet and soggy. This one looks simpler and being canvas is less likely to hold water, but I would probably get my butler creek elastic bino straps attached to it.

Seen those, don't like the clip closure always snap back in with a CLICK !!! the magnetic closures look like the go completely silent
Also only one fastener in the midfle will let all sorts of shit in which is the point of having a pouch to keep the shit out otherwise I'd just stick with my harness

I have an Alaskan Guides, really like it. I prefer the positive click and hold of a clip, find I can close it pretty quietly. Couple of little pockets is handy for ammo, etc.

Twinneedle bino bivy is a great bit of kit for me. I've got the Fusion 10x42 binos and they fit sweet. Quiet to open/close and secure with the magnets and have zips if you want more lockdown on the lid. Comfortable to wear and it can handle weather and the knocks. Good kiwi made gear.

Got a Eberlystock nosegunner with the magnetic closing, side pockets etc. I just unclipped it from it's harness, and clipped it onto the front of my day pack. Keeps everything snug.

NZ Asia imports all eberlestick including the nosegunner, so you should be able to order one through any H&F. I rate the badlands case very highly. They do two sizes, I got the smaller one for my 10x42 and they’re perfect. The front flap also fits topo maps perfectly.

FYI the nosegunner was too big and bulky for my liking.

Danny, the magnetic closure has a downside...

If you use a compass, the needle goes bezerk, and on most models the magnet is pretty close to where you hold a compass...

Have a look at the closure system on the Alaska Guide Creations models. Would be easy to copt that with some stretch cord and a button.

+1 for Alaska guides, like the extra pockets for bits and pieces. Can fit rangerfinder with 10*40 vortex and a few other bits and pieces. When I use my small 10*25 leaves heaps of room for other stuff that convenient to grab when on the move.

The Bino nearness does get in the way if lying down to take a shot, clip on the side and it moves.
