Thread: Bipod recommendations high end

MTN mountain bipod. Epic bipod. I have had mine for few years now and have used it in some very awkward positions, also it extends really high for a bipod, i can sit and shoot in some positions. Crazy light also and customer service is outstanding.

Also really liked the backlanz when i had one, but the attachment to rifle let me down i had it come lose way too often when pushing through scrub. The bipod itself was great tho, and customer service there was excellent too. Both great NZ made options.

I have a backlanz and like it

MTN mountain bipod - can have it high or LOW, haven't found a place that it wont sit and provide a good shooting platform

due to low weight and versatility its very good for hunting purposes.

As for stability and robustness, due to its construction (i.e. focus on light-weight) it is relatively wobbly. And I managed to break mine (they are not the most robust on the world) However MTN sorted me out and fixed it free of charge.

An alternative worth considering would be the blacklanz bipods (never used one, cant say anything about it myself).

Me being silly and trying to tighten the wrong screw to reduce "wobblyness", and snapping it. Definately did not use a huge amount of torque, but due to small size and lightweight design components have to be relatively small.

DPT happily sorted me out and if you dont make the same mistake as me youll be fine. Still have mine, still use it, still love it.

Spartan bipod for me. Easy attachment, very lightweight. Also seem to be very popular brand?

I liked the look but not sure about how it just magnets in ... have you ever had it fall out ??

Yep that's the first thing I noticed too with them. I shortened my one an inch, was easier enough job to do.

Never had my Spartan fall out - you have to give it a strong pull to dislodge from the mounting system. Though I carry it in a pouch on the side of my pack before use.

Thanks for feedback definitely hard on the gear so I probably need to have a play with one

I’m hard on gear my mtn mountains sweet and it’s had a hiding found the same as Ryan but with the spartan to tall on its lowest backlanz pan annoyed me but still a good bipod

Ive got a backlanz. Its great and wont be replaced, but doesn't tilt which can be annoying having to adjust the legs to compensate.

You own and use mtn gear out of them all and are happy with it ?
