If there were I would have one of each please.
Make the Heym an 8x57IRS with reasonably short barrels and the Farquharson would be nice in 450-400 nitro.

And as to the NZ price that's got a lot to do with the "end of the earth" syndrome and the small market, that our local distributors use to mark things up so heavily.
The last rifle I got in from Europe was such a huge effort in costs and paperwork that its out of the question now.

I apologise if I have come over in an abrasive manner,I did not intend to do so.All that matters is that you are happy with the Rifle and nothing else.I made the mistake of not reading all the posts and was unaware you had purchased a K-95.My advice was ment as just that,not a criticism of your purchase.

The price you pay in New Zealand is a symptom of the importer,retail price in most European countries is much the same.If you buy for export you can deduct the value added tax in the country of purchase.

Export paperwork is a detail much easier to handle in the Country of expedition,it can be as easy as one form and a couple of weeks or a three month wait.The cost of freight depends on the freight method and carrier.I have been shipping machinery world wide for nearly 20 years and have enjoyed some screaming deals on freight depending on who you talk to and how much they need your business.

I wish you all the best with your Rifle and should you require some help with a firearm purchase from Europe in the future I will only be to happy to help.

I brought my rifle through Holts. There are a few tricks.
If you go into there archives you can see what the prices of previous sales are.
It gives you good idea on what to spend.
You should also jack up shipping and export because they do charge for storage which soon is adds up.
But you can soon find some rather good stuff.:thumbsup:

And another helpful tip for K95 owners ( and other oil finished wood stocks ) is to use "Scherell's Premium Gold" stock oil before and after hunts.
Its the best stock oil I have found. Keep the rag in an air tight jar between use and you don't waste any wetting a new rag every time.
My stock is still in relatively good condition despite the abuse its had over the last 10 years.

Bags look good. I'll have to get some sorted. Ordered a K95 standard in 7x65R today. Now just have to wait4-5 months. Might be here in time for christmas. Brass and dies also ordered.

So you went with the 65R not the 57R
Its a significantly bigger case and in the K95 action you can load to bolt action pressures.
Good choice !

Very nice calibre, what a outstanding "plan". I'm guessing you're pretty familiar with 7x64 from the Big Bore Shoot . . . I really like my CZ 7x64, dammed near 7mm Rem mag velocities, easy to reload for and great to carry. According to Quickload 7x65 (69.8) has just smidge more capacity than 7x64 (69.0) but runs at 55,000 psi compared with 60,000 psi. 280 Rem is 67.8 and 284 Win 66.0.

Pm @Tentman he has/had a 7x64 @Fireflite has a CZ in 7x64 (I think).

@Danny I have a CZ FS that has a 20.5" barrel so probably can't offer any help/direction. Mine does however shoot 162 Eld-x's sub MOA running 2209 with iron sights (not over crono). Feels better on the shoulder than my Mannlicher FS 270. @Tentman sorry for being so slack, free over the next 3 day's!

Finally arrived. Put 6 shots through yesterday working out velocities etc. Hope to get her sighted in properly tomorrow and check her out to 400ish yards.
