Someone younger and smarter than me can probably get the pdf list too show for everyone else too see
My K95 is a 6.5x65R
I always fancied a short K95 barrel in 8x57R
But a 308 would be much more sensible
Then I'm not known for doing sensible
First barrel is a 7x65R, just about to get a .222
Yeah I'm guessing most guys K95 is in a primary big game caliber
But that they would like a smaller caliber as well
Or a short barreled thumper for in the bush and with a smaller lower powered scope
I suppose I can dream, 9.3x62 and 7x65r.
Maybe something small and fast too, like my 5.6
Mines 6.5x55 mauser and yeah I’d like smaller .222 or more likely .243 as I’m a big 6mm fan.

Fingers crossed the new .222 is a 1:12 twist. (Supposedly the 2024 barrel is. 1:12)
My 6.5 x 55 is chopped to 19.5” which is as short as you can go for the suppressor clearance of the barrel band , I would like a 7 x 57r as a second barrel just to have a rimmed case , the suppressor makes it pleasant to shoot even if it destroys the aesthetics.

A 15” 308 barrel is hard to beat in the trees.
If options were unlimited I’d like to own a 18” stainless barrel with suppressor in 6 creed with a 1-7.5 twist barrel for the 108 eldm. It would be pleasant to shoot for anyone behind the butt but still highly capable in most hunting circumstances.

I would have liked to have got a rimmed .22 cal but the options don’t make sense in NZ. Limited to no brass or projectile options.
Well I have a 225 Winchester chamber reamer
I personally think it's the pick of the fast 224 rimmed cases because the parent case is 30-30 and brass will always be available
Well, I've been selling down a few rifles, getting ready, to move back to NZ, Mid 2025.
Moving over to K95 and R8,
I've now got two K95 Blasers, a Lux and a std, 7x65R and 6.5 Creed,
Spare barrels, .22 Hornet, 5.6x50R and .243. I am glad i bought, before the big price gains,
Love the Little K95, great we stalking rifle,
The 22 Hornet, is by far the best barrel purchases, In all of these, big plus to the 5.6x50R, but wish it was faster twist. (1-12)
Pretty under whelmed with the .243 and 6.5, they shoot ok, but. prefer the rimmed cartridges.
I am looking for a used barrel, to try and get a blank made up,
My thoughts here are a fast twist .22 cal,
I have my eye on a K95, 9.3x74 barrel, mostly because its cheap,
Just applied for Import permits, with NZ police,
And 220 Swift like the 307 is only semi rimmed and do require a very well fitted extractor
That's fine with a K95 because the extractor is parallel to the bore
Not so good for actions where the extractor pivots
The beauty of the 308 is the available ammo, efficiencies in a short barrel and subsonic loads. These goats fell to subs while I was crossing a valley to get to a stag. I let the stag live, possibly the worst animal I’ve ever stalked.Attachment 263344
TT, that's a nice set up, compact etc., I am going to get a couple my barrels threaded/ chopped and suppressed, once back in NZ, I kind of wished, i had ordered a .308 instead of a .243, they are at least $1200 more a std barrel now. almost 3g, here in Canada, Hate to think what NZ costs are.
Years ago one of the local sports store had an octangle barrel .257 Wby, for $2600, I waited to long, wished I had bought it.
I would like a octangle barrel, but the $2500 surcharge makes for a bitter Pill,
I would love to get a barrel in a fast and flat cal, .257 wby, 7 RM , or .264 win, looked hard in the past, but find full power 7x65R loads have plenty of recoil.
Perhaps we should have a K95 get together, one day, seams there is a few fans, of this little rifle,
Shit that stag looks like it came out of a concentration camp @T.T , great pic and a hell of a big walk, I see how you got the 15" barrel now with the muzzle forward suppressor, I like what you've done there, mine being 6.5 x 55 I don't really want to go any shorter than 19.5 and it still balances ok with the suppressor.
I had mine in the bush in 4 days of rain, I probably should have pulled the butt off the receiver to check for moisture and oil but to be honest I'm a bit nervous doing that, curious what you did with yours when you got home?
The rimless cases are a bit fiddly to get out as they come out very far when you break the gun, but you do get used to it, I would definitely go a rimmed jobby if I brought again but don't think that will happen with prices now
My rifle has been swimming several times. As far as I know ( could be wrong )the parts in the action are either stainless or alloy. I’ve never taken the stock off mine. I just remove the barrel and breach block and let it dry out in the gun safe. I have a piano heater in the safe which does a great job of driving all moisture out.
My rifle fell 140m down a cliff with me
It's been 100% apart and a very fine crack in the wrist has been repaired and is now invisible
I also wanted too see how the trigger and cooking worked.
Don't trust anything I don't understand
You can make 307 and any 308 / 243 based case from 444 Marlin brass and get a great rimmed case
Case capacity of a 30-444 Wildcat would be half way between 308 and 30-06
But my 307 has plenty of case capacity and you can make a dual extractor that works with 307 and 308 brass reliably
Picked up the new .222 barrel today. Has 2024 stamped on it so should be a 1:12” barrel. I’m going to try 60gr Hornady SP through it. Could also do the Sierra 63gr or possibly the Speer 70gr.
Rang the Firearms safety authority and I don’t have to register the new barrel, they just made a note that I have a second barrel for it.
The new barrel didn’t fit at the start. It got sent back to importer and they sent it off to a gunsmith. Looks like they a very small amount of the sides of the lugs. Fits great now. Although foreend is a bit tighter on the new barrel compared to the original.
I would imagine you could lightly sand the lugs yourself if it didn’t fit properly.
A customer in Europe built a 338 Lapua Magnum on a K95.....

Hi again
Got it lined up perfectly now..
Impressive in a 6 lbs rifle….improved præcision and the recoil felt the same, if not less, than with the 7x57 barrel on the same gun, even with a vanward moderator on it.
Thanks for a great product.
Definitely not the last one i buy from you.
Thanks
