I don't think you could forget a great deal if you had the nice box also, just as likely to forget the scope or barrel. I think what would be worse is taking the wrong barrel and the wrong ammo.

And back to this question, Can you change the Scopes between the barrels with out losing zero? I'm thinking that might be asking a bit much of it but never know unless you ask. I spose if you know your POI between the different barrels you could just dial the difference when you change them?

As good as the design may be from a repeatability point of view that would be a utter fluke if zero on two different barrels was the same on one scope.... extreamly unlikely.

Which is why I asked as to the point of the quick release scopes attached to barrels, I guess has a use if you use and carry two scopes for one hunt with one barrel as R93 does but I would rather just use one decent scope.

If the scope was mounted to an action as many other switch barrels are then quick release scopes make perfect sense as you need to replace the scope for the zero of each barrel or have the poi shift written down or use a scope like on the Sako quad with separate zeros built into the scope for each barrel.

Lr brought a new blaser didn't he?

I guess there's nothing stopping you from using same scope across barrels if you know what to set dials at for zero on different cals. Same idea as with the larue mounts.

Handy if you travel a lot or go through nasty areas you don't want to fuck your gear in?

Yes as above, so what is so much better with these other blasers than the ones they were singing the praises of but are now selling?

Didn't know LR had one and Abe still has a couple blasers as of last night's discussion with him about parts.

Each to their own. Brads most probably has a good reason for changing.

I personally would not buy an R8 unless it was to be a platform for a static F class rifle.
Blaser will lighten them up eventually.
    My only issue with them.

    Yes

As long as you know how much to dial between the two barrels, just dial the difference

I had the scopes off brads barrels a few times, the poi never changed at 1000yrds

Lots of Fcuking around... I tried it by swapping a Z5 between my 6.5x55 barrel and my 7mmRM barrel. Significant enough difference in E and W POI's (for me ) to dismiss the idea.
As Kiwijames has said, no worries to take the scope off and put it in your carry on luggage, when travelling, and then chuck it back on the same barrel.
