    Bolt action smoothness

Best way to make bolt slide more smoothly in action? Other than repeatedly cycling action

Rack it harder, you'll never notice how smooth an action is except when you're playing with it.

A bit of valve grinding paste in the square cut outs, guide slot (not around the round shaft of the bolt), cycle repetitively, then wash out with hot water until clean. The paste is designed to be water soluble. Thoroughly clean and re-oil rifle...should be better than before.

But sometimes (depending on the rifle) you're just polishing a turd.
