Boyds have restricted Prairie Hunter stocks to NZ

I spotted a kimber stock on bouds rapidfire that i wanted to grab but was unable to purchase for $59us
I hit up the customer service and got this email

    Hello,
I do apologize for this but it does look like the Prairie Hunter stock is now restricted in New Zealand.
    Thanks

    Anyone know more about this?

Thanks. That might be an option. Don’t know if it will be quick enough fot the rapid fire sale.
Works out to 225 nzd vs 125 if they’d sell direct. Not too bad.

Just can’t believe they’ve decided another stock shape is restricted.

Maybe the larger importers are trying to shut down direct sales. Try with another stock shape and see if thats importable?

Looks like all of their rapid fire stocks are restricted. Might pay to Email their customer service. I just checked and they would let me buy a stock for my mossberg shotty.

Yeah, tried some of the other rapid fire sales and they all showed as restricted to NZ.
I've follow up on the customer service email and see what happens.

Good luck with that. From my experience, their service is rubbish. Thye only cam round after I pointed out they had INTENTIONALLY lied to me for two months about an order and when I caught them out they still tried to get out of it. I got them in the end, but I will never deal with them again. For what its worth, thye make a decent product that was reasonably good value, but the US policy makers coupled with sh_t service has done a lot of damage.

+1 They sent me the wrong stock, took about 2 months to resolve, after my initial order took like 4.

In that case they might of been covering their arse regarding ITAR, but in the former I suspect one of the Boyds importers has approached them and asked them to shit can private sales to NZ.

It could be, I done some experimenting last night. They will still ship items that normally retail for under a hundy, but not any of the rapid fire.
Last stock I got from them was wrong sized action. Happy with the end result (shipping refunded) but the barreled action , rail and scope kind of left the finances a tad short.

Billing and shipping address must match. Some other US websites won't even let you in if your IP is on there " look after our distributers" list.
Even Opticsplanet is heavily restricting what they'll ship here.

Brought a few stocks from them, service matchs those above but I did get the right stock in the end. For the price point it was worth putting up with it.
