    Which boyds stock?

Going to slap the tikka 22-250 in a boyds stock... question is which style?

Mostly shooting out the truck window and freehand but occasionally prone off a bipod.

Never had experience with anything other than the classic style stock so can someone convince me that something else is a better fit?

I’ve got the thumb hole pistol grip style on my .223 and it’s awesome!

It was a substantial improvement from the factory T3 plastic fantastic and certainly is helping, I believe, as I gradually increase my shooting range

My first boyds was the thumbhole and it was nice for shooting prone or off the bench at the range but i found it uncomfortable when bush stalking. Second one i got the praririe hunter and i liked that much better

What made you want the raised comb over the straight stock?

Got a couple of Praririe Hunter, not bad stocks, but will be looking to change out to Pro Varmint, have one already with adj comb, not sure how well that'll work out of a window... Rimfire hunter is nice as well, have had a few classics, various stocks have there place but the PH should do the trick...

I found the thumbhole stock really helped when I had to change to left hand shooting even bushstalking.

It is in NZ. Boyds won't ship anything over 100 US. We had 2 years of searching the rapid fire sales daily. I have a rimfire hunter which is great and 2 classics which are ok but I'm still getting used to the weird angle on the pistol grip.

ruger american has little v blocks that the action sits on i made some pillars up that fitted under the v blocks and jb welded the blocks and pillars into the stock i also put a steel trigger guard in as i recon the plastic one will squash and give problems it shoots well but having a thin barrel she heats up fast and groups open up

The howa action just bears on the wood but seems to shoot ok. There's a big lump that hangs down square at the front of the action rather than a conventional lug. I'll get around to bedding it someday but just don't have the time or experience at present.
