Unhappy Brand new rifle missing a screw? Help?

    Hi Everyone,

Just got my brand new Ruger scout rifle from reloaders today, was rapt with the overall quality and feel of it, till I noticed there seems to be a hole where a screw should pass up through the rear of the trigger guard to the back of the receiver? It is threaded at the top

Surely this isn't normal? Does anyone else have one of these?

    (trying to add photos)

Definitely missing - call them and they should supply the missing part.

I just checked my m77 with the same action and kimjon and vc were right, a screw is missing. Hopefully reloaders can get you the right part and not screw you.

Thanks everyone, and cheers twoshotkill for the pics, yeah it really pisses me off paying that kind of money for stupid crap like this, this is the third rifle I've bought new, (the previous two being ARs) and every damn time something has been amiss. Thought I'd buy a bolt action and surely that'd be right from the start, but it was not to be.
Hope they can send me a genuine part without much trouble. I don't want a mitre 10 mega fix.
Also the bore is filthy as all f***, is that normal?
