    brno barrel

Good friend has a Brno zkw465 (i think), 22 hornet. Shoots like crap. The last load he tried was below 22wmr velocities and just passable.
Think he said it was a 1-14 twist too so cant go too heavy in the projectiles anyway
he has had a shit of a job getting the barrel clean.
It is slowly coming better in regards to accuracy and cleanliness so he hasn't quite given up hope yet.
the barrel has the sights missing and has been shortened so it wouldn't be a travesty if he has to rebarrel it.
I suppose a factory barrel for these is like unicorn excrement?

Get Truflite to make and fit a matching barrel, maybe in a faster twist. And then get it Ceracoated, or KG coated in a matt blue/black colour to match the original blue. Should be able to sort out some appropriate sights wanting to retain it like original - the rear sight fits in to a dovetail the barrel from memory, and an appreciate foresight ramp could be found and machined to the right height. Think I saw one on TM a few nights ago

Dont know if he would go that far but possible.
Minimum would possibly be a take off 224 calibre barrel and make that fit as.long as there was enough meat left in the tenon after removing the chamber.
Next beg would just be a straight out rebarrel with a newie and not worry about open sights

fill barrel with crc 5.56 over night and then give it a plurry good clean.....try pistol primers......entirely up to you, read up on risks BUT many folks swear by it in the wee case with its lower pressure...and flat based speer will possibly gold as are softer than most and MAY soak into what rifling is there better.... go hotter and it might improove..... and he is using hornet sized projectiles???? possibly try .224 maybe speer 50 grn flat base hp just a few will tell if better or still crap,I believe hornets are .223??? sized so maybe upping projectile will help.....

He is an avid and pretty experienced shooter and handloader. He has had at least one firearm that needed the old ammonia laced sweets to get a barrel clean and shooting well. Dont believe he is using it in this instance but could be wrong.
Literally just sent me a video and pics of him shooting a target at 1182 yards.
    2 shots 125mm apart.
