Broken BSA magazine springs, what have you replaced them with?

    Hi All
I'm buying an early BSA majestic in 222 and its magazine spring has been broken and replaced with something else. The capacity has been dropped from 5 to 3 at a tight squeeze. So who out there has had to replace a spring and had to use one from a different manufacturer?
I have found a spring in the uk at airgun spares but they are woeful to deal with.

I have used the Zastava mini mauser magazine springs successfully. Cheers, Gary.

I trim up pieces of Bren mag springs. They are short enough between bends to fit a variety of short mag boxes. I have some spare pieces.

How bad were they to deal with, that's who I quoted in my original post?

I got a new one from Stager Sports 18 years ago

I think I may have 1 original one left in stock here for a BSA 222. Otherwise a rem700 223 mag spring can be modified to suit.

Everyone has the right to their own opinion, but that doesn't mean that every opinion is right.
