No plastic bolt shroud on it - just plastic fake "cross bolts" and a plastic fake "ebony" fore end tip. And as for custom builds - Both my Rems needed fixing (sorry thats customising these days isnt it...) out of the box. Never had the need to modify any of my other rifles to get them to work.

Anyhoo - hard to find a story about a bad a-bolt, cant think of a single one recently?

I emailed the guy I bought it off for "CHEAP" and said it wouldnt shoot....

I got a real apoligetic type email back offering to take me hunting and all this lala...

I emailed back and said that a 2 second job of adding extra forend pressure made it do 1/2" groups fairly consistantly..

He kept his hunting offer open at which point i decided he was quite a decent bloke lol... as id have pulled the same trick too
