Browning X-Bolt Super Light .308 Carbon Threaded - anyone shot one?

    Hey Team,

Anyone shot a Browning X-Bolt Super Light .308 Carbon ?

There is a short thread on here about the 233 but not the 308 that I can find.

The stock isn't real carbon just hydro dipped but they seem well made.

Anyone shot one with factory ammo? How did it group?

    Cheers

Interesting. My cheapo Browning is around a 1/4 minute rifle and I am not a very good shot.

I have one in 308 I hand load for it and use 150gr set, my aim was to replicate the hornady factory load.
It can shoot MOA out to 500yds if I do my bit correctly. It certainly is a well put together rifle and does what it is advertised to do, I left the sticker on the butt and I think that will last longer than the ‘carbon fibre’ style coating on the stock.

Yeah my one gripe would be that faux carbon "soft touch" stock and the lack of availability for a proper carbon fibre replacement

@Preacher I suppose though with it being factory bedded, 2.7kgs and shooting 1/4 moa...does it need a carbon stock?

Probably not but I don't like any soft coating on rifles. It's a non essential component that I can't see wearing well over time.

Good point. I suppose it could be re hydro dipped by someone in country if it started wearing.

That's the problem it wears uneven so you get little aids spots. Have to fully strip for an aesthetic finish. If you don't mind a scabby looking rifle and solely care about its function it's not a big deal but I happen to like it when a rifle looks nice too

Yeah true. I suppose that's like the Sako Carbonlights etc. I wonder how hard it is to strip it all off.
