My old mans got an ex police one too, it had AK9 painted on the stock, no other markings from the police. He was in the force when they sold them so travelled to a few different stations and tendered on the one that had been drawn the least, $75 he paid, shoots sub 1" at 100 with federal blue box, beautiful wee gun
I have given the barrel and chamber a good going over with wipe out but can't shoot as the bolt unavailable till Sunday!

Those blue patches remind me of the cleaning I had to do. It took me about a week of "Soak and scrub, soak and scrub". Eventually the patches came out clean and the rifle hasn't looked back, and it continues to do sub MOA's.
Just shot it today with a pony old 3x9 taco as that's the only scope I own that the bolt would clear.
Shooting an inch at 100m so happy enough with that.
Going to make some handloads tomorrow morning and have a play!
