Yeah I will at some point but it wont be till I find out if it is a shooter first, I will be stripping it down as a winter project . Once it's in bits I will post a picture .
Will let members know how it shoots after this weekend hopefully.

Thought I would give a progress report n the mighty BSA 222, weather was good so away I went.
Trigger is a shocker probably the heaviest I have ever used, no feel and a considerable effort needed, has to be 8 lb plus so it will get a trigger job.
Very loud, I am not used to an unsuppressed rifle so my 30 cal DPT will be going onto it.
Shooting over a pack at 112 yrds with dirty old 50gr Remington Coreloc's .
It is showing really good potential, I pulled the last shot which opened it out to an inch but as you can see if I had done my part it would have a very small group.
Really cool old gun that will provide some great varmint and Deer shooting over the years to come.

@viper that trigger is adjustable. I'd give it a clean and a play before going for a replacement.
You can also buy set triggers for them from memory £110 from kibbs international.

By the way it's that Allen key on the trigger imperial 1/16th screw it out and you should get it down to 2.5
Most factory settings were 5 I think. Try that let us know

No I haven't got confirmation it is a CF2 , just what the boys on here have said. I have had more of look at the magazine, really interesting , I think it's an add on but the workmanship is first rate, will post a pick sometime and show what I think are modifications to whatever the mag was originally.

You are dead right @Sideshow, there is a grub screw on the trigger, will have a play cause she's a shocker at the moment.

@viper Yours is a cf2 see the first line of your serial number "2R" made between 73 to 86
Year I'm dying to have a look at that magazine arrangement. From zooming in it looks like they took out the old floor plate and added that.
Might have been done for chopper work our culling of some kind.

You can go to the set trigger which is a lot better. The Monarch trigger was ment to be the best of the BSA triggers.
Anyway let me know I can pick one up and bring it when I'm done next year.

BSA CF2 Set Trigger Unit - John Knibbs International Ltd

They are bloody awesome much better than the old standard trigger. You push the front blade forward to set it.
You can also just use it as normal.

It is possible to adjust the CF2 triggers to a point that they are dangerous. I have set up lots of them and can set yours up if you like. I usually do them to 2.5 lbs for all round use. Give me a PM.
