    BSA Sportsman 10

I have a BSA Sportsman 10 with 12 shot tube magazine.
It is in very good condition with no obvious rusting or pitting in the barrel
The magazine tube is straight with no dents or kinks. Blueing is also very good
Probably the most accurate hunting 22 I've ever used.
    Is this a collectable item
Hunting is relaxing just like Yoga except I get to kill something.
If it Flies it dies and if it hops it drops.

It is if you treasure it.

Not particularly collectable to a serious collector as they made these in their thousands.

However a very nice rifle just the same.

    Use it and enjoy.

    Cheers
    Pete

Bit confused mate. You say a Sportsman 10 but then go on to say it has a 12 shot tube mag.
The Sportsman was made in single shot, 5, 10 (the rarest) and the 15 shot.
The 15's come up regularly on Tardme, the 5's less so (often missing their mags) and occasionally the single shots.
The 15's seem to go for between $80 and $200. Less than top dollar if someone has side mounted a scope, threaded for a suppressor, sanded off the BSA trademark on the stock. Not greatly collectable.

Numbers made The BSA SPORTSMAN & SUPERSPORT RIFLES

The 10 shot was only made for a short period of time and then replaced by the 15, supposedly to satisfy the Oz market with a largest capacity mag, or so the story goes.

Thanks for the in put Guys
The top of the barrel is marked "Sportsman Ten"
The tube definitely holds 12 and rotates and locks.

Probably the spring is getting a bit sad. Does it feed the last shots OK?
The 10 has the tube mag extending sorta 2/3 along the barrel whilst with the 15 the mag goes almost to the end.
The Sportsman 10 as I said is the rarer one.
They are also worth more is they (any model) have a Parker Hale 16 aperture sight fitted.

This links to BSA serial numbers BSA - John Knibbs International Ltd
The 10's serial number is prefixed with an L. Also check that your bolt's handle serial number matches the action's serial number.

Tube stops 25cm from muzzle and extends 14cm forward from front of stock.
Serial is L 14942 and bolt has only 942
