Not considering the Burris but what are peoples thoughts?
I'm having a "discussion" with a fella in regards to this and he reckons Burris are the ducks guts and with it regardless of conditions can shoot 9 out of 10 dinner plates at 700 m. I find it hard to believe but just say it's true.
I think something that is trying to cram in a whole lot of function into one device can't be as good as highly engineered products each designed for a specific purpose.
Thoughts?
I don't see why he wouldn't in good conditions.
It eliminates some thinking about range and elevation which as anyone who shoots long range will tell you is the easy bit. Wind estimation and corrections is the hard bit and the scope isn't goin to help you there.
My thoughts are it could shoot a diner plate at 1000m 10/10 times I still wouldn't want the ugly fuckers on my rifle
What's the weight argument?? IE Burris vs binos plus whatever else. .
They basically take the science and understanding out of long range shooting but as vc says they dont help with wind calls which is where you're misses are going to come from if you have a relatively consistant load, will minimise vertical

Sorry steve but you aint making much sense to me...
The separate components are easier to use for a number of firearms. Say you want to figure out what will work for your mate and his rifle, 'You take this one mate.' If you have a couple of rifles in your livery it will work for all of them without needing to re-zero and re-enter base data.

It's funny how offended some people get if someone else doesn't like or has a differing opinion on something that they personally own. Happened in the last Burris eliminator thread as well.

Well Burris obviously isn't too confident in their craftsmanship seeing as they only have a 3 year warranty for the electronics. I'd much prefer to be able to take my Leicas or Swaros back when Im 70 years old and know they'll be replaced if need be.
I think Perazzi's comments make perfect sense too for the record. Anything can be manipulated if taken out of context.
Don't get me wrong I think Burris is great, have many of their scopes, but the Burris eliminator is a short cut in the long range game, have a play ith one like I have and you will get some idea. Anyway don't listen to what I have to say as I'm pissed as dirty pirate on rum on dirty old coruba in the dirty nsw
