    Bush pig/bush rifle accuracy question

Gday fellas just bought a rifle of the forum actually and guy reckons it groups a 1.5 inches at a hundy I haven't had it out to try it yet but it just a old Carl Gustav May of spelt it wrong but would that sort of grouping be adequate for 100m ? It may group better or worse with me behind it its full length Mauser synthetic stock and weaver scope I'm considering cutting it a bit shorter and putting a can on it its a 6.5x55

Can you shoot 1.5 Moa standing with a $10k rifle? Neither can I, so it's academic really

If it is only going to be a 100yd rifle, three inch grouping will easily kill anything you point it at bigger than a rabbit.

Point is, it'll shoot better than most people can shoot. Go shoot it and see?

The first rifle I bought would shoot 3-6 inches at 100.
I shot many deer goats and pigs with it, just got closer.

having said that passed up a shed load that were too far away too.

if you can kill a std 2 litre milk bottle with rifle you are on the money for deer sized game, the range you can hit bottle will give you fair idea of range you can safely tackle game.

If it's anything like my mates old 6.5x55 the best thing for it is to chop it and re-crown. Was like a new rifle afterward

And push some 160s through it, they have a real tight twist, something like 1:7.5" I think so love the heavy stuff

This is the m38, they moved to slightly lighter ammo didn't they? 144gr?

But if not, good to know!
