It should be fine on a 17hmr
A big fast bullet beats a little fast bullet every time
ive got one a couple of them one on a pcp and one on a 22 they have been good as far as a budget scope goes. in that price range I like the nikko stirlings im running 5 of those on various rifles and had no problems with them either
It doesn't answer your question directly but in the last year I have bought 2 Bushnell Legend Ultra HD scopes. Yeah, I know they are somewhat dearer than the Banner. The optics in them is quite stunning for the price and for a Chinese product. If someone had suggested a year ago that I buy a Chinese scope I would have told them to f..k off. The old Banner of years ago was a great value budget scope. I used one on my 308 for years. The latest Banners mmmm don't know.
I've had a Bushnell Banner 3-9*40 on my 22 and it's worked well in daylight. I've never tried it in low light or night.
I've had to re-zero it a few times but probably due to it getting knocked going in and out of the safe (need to get a bigger safe or have less guns) or being dropped. Don't know if this is typical, but doesn't seem to happen to my other rifle/scopes.
I don't think it's any better than other Chinese scopes, I think I prefer my lower cost Tasco World Class.
@tiroatedson there is one on the "NZ Firearms Buy/sell/trade" Facebook page for $90 including rings
Got one on my .22 - Perfectly good for bunnies out to about 60m - 70m
May need something a little stronger after that.
Aim, take the safety off.........and dance
Cheers guys
