    Calibrating Garmin 62s ...grrrr...

Try as I might I can't get the compass on my Garmin 62s to calibrate. Ive followed the instructions time and again. Good clear sky, so reception isn't the problem.

Any suggestions apart from biffing it into a dam?
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing, and right-doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.

Possibly local EM interference (assuming you're calibrating the compass) electrical equipment, anything ferrous an make it problematic. Magnets in bino chest pouch can lead to interesting results too...

I do mine in the middle of sports playing field, as an urban dweller, seems to work fine.
