    Uh-oh, is the topic deviating just a little?

    What about 284, saw one or two back in the 70’s. ( funny looking cartridge)

    The Savage 99 lever action was chambered for it. Production stopped 1972.

    Also .284 in Winchester Model 88 lever and Model 100 semi-auto
