that's a cool looking pattern, what did you use to get the black spots? a couple of clear coats will make it wear better also

Thanks MD - surprised myself how well it turned out. Started off like the videos on YouTube spraying random stripes of green, khaki & brown. Then some overlays with cream or khaki using a bit of ponga frond, then dots in green, brown and then black.

What spray cans did you use?
Way to go Pete looks grouse :thumbsup: make sure you use a matte clear if you must clear coat, personally I perefer not to use a clear at all as even the matte has a bit of shine in direct sun in my experience. I'm happy enough to touch up my stocks if they get worn.....hasn't been necessary yet ;)
Top job. The only thing I know about pawlonia is that its very light, how stong is it compared to something like walnut?

The green, brown and khaki are Rustoleum brand camo or matt. The black and cream were some other brand.Quote:

No prime, Matt clear is Rustoleum brand. Used that as the other matt colours were that brand. Has lasted well so far. If you’re starting with fibreglass stock I’d be giving it a good go over with 120 or 150 grit before painting. Pretty cool what can be achieved with a few rattle cans & some imagination.
