I’m about to give the carbon stock build a go.
Question:
I have a 308 and 7mm RM. Both Tikka T3’s
If the new stock is bedded for one, will it switch over to the other ok?
Obviously I will check at the range, but theoretically?
Cheers

Theoretically yes I believe the fishers are all bedded on a donor action
On Tikkas yes. Alot of Tikka stock makers will be their own slave action in the states.
Thanks for the info,
Next question:
I’m realistically only going to make one or two stocks.
I don’t think I will bother making a mould, so therefore I will opt for shaping a plug and wrapping in carbon.
What have people used as plug material? Other than bulsa and pulownia, Have looked at the PVC closed cell foam, but don’t know where I can get it.
Alternatively, has someone got a mould they would be willing to lend me?
Cheers,
Paulonia is great to work with & makes an excellent stable male plug for wrapping
@Brian has made a couple of amazingly light thumbhole stocks out of pulownia and just painted them with a polyurethene. They are surprisingly durable-they get a lot of work and just have the odd little dent. Light as a light thing.
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing, and right-doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.
