So whats a cartridge that'll work with the .308 bolt. Doesn't need to be short action, this thing is old and has plenty of room.

Would a .35Whelen work? it say's it's based off a 30-06 and I think 30-06 is the same size as a 308 unless I'm wrong in which case I should keep looking

Yes the 35 whelen is from the 30-06. Above is a list of 30-06 wildcat cartridges

What is the action and what do you want it to do, and do you want to keep the original barrel?

Think it's a parkerhale and no not keep the barrel. I want it to do what every other gun in the safe does. kill things 35Whelen had caught my eye with 250grs at 2,500fps.

All just thought atm it'd be a long long time before I have saved enough to do it

Hey it's not THAT much of a silly question. Just needs some brain activity to figure out what I'm on about. Which must be hard cause I don't even know what I'm on about

If you are wanting big then what about 375 whelen or 9.3x62 ?

Might just go with a 30-06. It's cheaper and good enough. just a bit too common thats all but might have to suck it up

Fark now I'm even confused, how about a .50 cal you'll kill everything you want with that and up to 3 miles, poaching would be a piece of piss?

Decide what you want it to do,cheep plinker? hammer of thor very short range? do all out to med long range? WTF do you want it to do!

Open sight bush gun. Cant any one put together a large list of cartridges that'd work I can look through lol.

Preferably easy to get dies and brass ect.

450 bushmaster? 308? 338 fed?
