    Case for an AR15

    Hi all,

Can anyone recommend me a good transport case for an AR15. Must be lockable so that I can take it on flights. Barrel is 14.5"

    Cheers

Buy a pelican mate. Measure the rifle and see what's available, there's one that people use with blaser rifles that would work.

What he said, get the smallest you can if just for an ar, and slap heaps of guitar and music stickers on it. Get less weird looks and less people eying it up

    1700 would probably work

Have a look at super cheap auto, they have pelican style cases for a pretty good price, about 1/3 what you'd pay for a pelican. Go on their website and search for 'tool pro case'.

Sometimes you can get them cheaper on special.

as someone who's never used a foam case before - can you safely break an AR into it's upper and low and have them safely sit side by side in the case? Or are they likely to bang into each other? The 1700 is looking pretty good right now

    Yeah you can.
You can either get the foam to cut, pluck or just to squash it.

You can often get pelican cases cheeper on eBay ,even after the high shipping and gst I saved $200 on one that fits a split 20" AR.
Weight is worth thinking off, some of the cheeper ones work well but can be very heavy-not a issue for some uses but worth thinking about

Boom. This looks like the best option, got a 1700 from here for $292 all up. $200 cheaper than here like you said. You're a legend.

I picked up an airline type Plano for $259 last week. Happy with its construction but it's heavy

Don't tell me the negatives I've bought it!!!
