For the not so bright out there there is no differance between an A-CAT AR15 and a MSSA AR15 RIFLE the stock and grip means bugger all the a- cat will take the 20rnd mag just like the mssa will take the 5rnd mag there is no differance in the two just what peoples deffanition of it is this goes for all military style semi autos

None of this is new news really. Spend a lot of time explaining this every week with customers.

Are you saying that the distinction between an E-cat and an A-cat is a load of arse?

    If so I agree

Yes the whole system is a pointless waste of time. We know. It's a distinction without a difference.

It has come about because the Police invented E-cat to try and ban "assalt rifles" however they found out that it is very hard to limit something by a description. It bit them in the arse, now we have the A-cat, E-cat thing.

Ah, those halcyon days when modicum of common sense was acceptable.

I suspect that many legitimate A-Cat AR15 and the like owners are simply realizing they are increasingly needing to be very discreet about their ownership of such a weapon

We all do that regardless because of low-lifes, scumbags and their families, but it is sad that it is going the way that we're not too open about it with our AOs either. The fact any A Cat weapon is not required to be individually recorded/registered is a significant matter. And in fairness to the fine folks the AOs are, it will be beurocracy that beats us and them!

    My 2c worth

    I can't spell beurocracy either.

    On ya @stretch

Weapons are illegal, and there's no such thing as a weapons licence.
