Thread: CCI A17 has gone AWOL

Has anyone seen stock of CCI A17 anywhere? I still have a few boxes left but definitely keen to stock up on a few bricks as it certainly seems to be the best ammo for my Savage A17.

Its been a year at least since I have seen it for sale in NZ.

Haven't seen it down chch way for a while.
Probably worth trying the CCi VNT version if you haven't already, it's the closest option to A17. Looks like GC Napier and Reloaders still have VNT in stock.

Ask the guys selling it, they should know.

I'm pretty sure the a17 stuff is a little hotter so that it cycles the action properly.

I believe the A17 is specifically designed to be okay there, due to the delayed blowback action.

I'm away at the moment but sure I have some A17 stuff. Not sure how much but if you want to do a straight swap for any other type of 17gr .17 ammo let me know.

That warning is for users of Alexander Arms semi 17 HMR. They are designed for std hmr rounds and can not use the hotter stuff or the 20 gr rounds.

Both A17 and VNT are blacklisted for these HMRs.

VNT is basically the A17 with a speer projectile v's the Vmax
